The National Weather Service is warning of worsening weather by issuing an emergency bulletin with weather forecasts. Where will the storm hit?
Meteorologists warn that from Tuesday 02/22/2022 until noon on Thursday 02/24/2022, the weather is expected to worsen from the northwest to the southeast, accompanied by storms and heavy rainfall. Heavy rains with thunderstorms will pass:
In the Ionian Islands, in Epirus and Western Steria on Tuesday, from morning to noon. In the west of the Peloponnese at noon and in the afternoon on Tuesday. In Thessaly and Sporades from early Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning. In western and central Macedonia from Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday morning. In Thrace and Eastern Macedonia on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. In the central and northern part of Evia from Wednesday morning to noon. Cyclades, Crete and Dodecanese from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon.
Heavy localized snowfall is expected from Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday morning in western Macedonia and in the highlands/semi-mountains of Epirus, central Macedonia and Thessaly.
Strong northerly winds will blow on Wednesday in the Ionian Sea from the beginning of the day, and in the Aegean Sea – from noon. Their strength will reach 8 points on the Beaufort scale. On Thursday, they will gradually weaken in the Ionian Sea, and in the Aegean in some places they will reach 9 points.
The temperature on Wednesday will drop significantly, by 5-7 degrees, mainly in the east of the country, warns newsbeast.gr.
