Greek MEP Eva Kaili was elected one of the 14 MEPs on Tuesday.
Kylie, who was elected from the Movement for Change (KINAL) and is part of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats group, received 454 votes, placing fifth out of nine candidates, thus being elected to this position in the first round.
Nikos Androulakis, leader of KINAL/PASOK, congratulated Kylie on Twitter, stating that it was the first time since 2014 that the post had been taken by an elected member of their party.
A third ballot will be held to fill the last two vice presidents.
Dimitris Papadimoulis, SYRIZA MEP from the Left group, is one of five candidates for the last two posts.
