“It is a shame that these purchases, made with the money of Greek taxpayers, who are still suffering from the consequences of the pandemic and galloping inflation, are being used to self-advertise New Democracy,” said KINAL MP Nikos Androulakis.
Statement by Nikos Androulakis published on his YouTube channel
“We supported a defense agreement with France to strengthen the country’s defense capability by purchasing Rafale aircraft because we want to secure our national sovereignty. “But it’s a shame that these purchases, made with the money of Greek taxpayers, who are still suffering from the effects of the pandemic and runaway inflation, are being used to self-promotion of the New Democracy.”
As we reported earlier, the arrival of the first 6 Rafale fighters was staged with unprecedented fanfare. After the planes flew over the Acropolis, the fighter jets landed at the Tanagra military airfield, near Athens, where it was consecrated, and Prime Minister Kiryak Mitsotakis delivered a “fiery speech”.

The opposition also noted that such intrusive advertising of products of the French defense industry is beyond the bounds of decency.
