Parchment scrolls in Hebrew found in the wall of the Hagia Sophia

In Istanbul, in the wall of the Hagia Sophia, 5 parchment scrolls were found. Now we have to find out if they are of historical value.

The Hebrew scrolls were discovered by accident. As you know, the Turkish authorities turned the temple into a mosque. During prayer, one of the Muslims drew attention to the damage to the wall – a chipped stone about 10×30 cm in size.

He reported his observation to the authorities, after which a bag containing five parchment scrolls was found in the doorway. The text is written in Hebrew, and it is not yet clear whether the find should be considered historical artifacts. The study will be carried out by specialists from the provincial department of culture and tourism, the newspaper reports. AOJ
