Mitsotakis and Putin meet in Moscow on December 8

On December 8, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. According to the information of the OPEN channel, the most probable date is December 8th.

According to the TV channel, Athens and Moscow are already conducting intensive consultations on all the technical details of the meeting of the two leaders of states. According to political analysts, the visit will take place at a very difficult time, including due to the energy crisis.

As noted, this is the first meeting of the two leaders since the election of the New Democracy government. According to OPEN, positive aspects are also noted in relation to cooperation between the two countries, such as, for example, the participation of Russian firefighters in extinguishing the fires that have arisen. This year, natural disasters, as well as history (which connects our country with Russia in terms of the 200th anniversary of the Greek revolution) have served to rally states.

Recall that in August Kyriakos Mitsotakis contacted by phone with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin about the catastrophic fires.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation expressed support for his country of Greece and, on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, confirmed the invitation to Kyriakos Mitsotakis to visit Russia, which he accepted.
