Dozens of fines were levied on ΚΤΕΛ passengers who failed to show a vaccination certificate or a negative coronavirus test.
On Friday 18/09 alone, 36 violations were confirmed. At KTEL bus stations, there is intensive monitoring of compliance with the measures imposed by the government. As a reminder, unvaccinated passengers must have a negative laboratory test result in order to be able to use public transport for travel. However, this is not observed in everyone.
On Friday, traffic police conducted checks at the Kifissos and Liossia intercity bus stations on 53 routes. 36 violations were recorded in passengers who did not have the necessary documents with them – a certificate of vaccination or a previous illness, a negative express test. In the coming days, control will be tightened.

Who is exempt from mandatory coronavirus tests
Minors from 4 to 11 years old can travel by performing a self-test 24 hours before the scheduled arrival time at the destination.
Those who are fully vaccinated, that is, completed the coronavirus vaccination in at least 14 days and demonstrated a vaccination certificate, are exempted from the above obligation to diagnose by PCR or rapid test. Those who have presented a certificate of a past illness within the last six months are also exempt from taking tests.
If a vaccination certificate, a certificate of a past illness or a negative test result are not presented, the passenger cannot travel by transport. In addition, these citizens are subject to other sanctions for non-compliance with public health measures, including fines.
