According to the fire department, a fire broke out again in the gorge between Adames and Tatoi airport – an attempt is being made to take the situation under control.
Thursday afternoon in the woodland in Varibobi another fire broke out. According to the fire department, the fire point is in the gorge between Adames and Tata airport. Firefighters fear that the fire will go towards the royal estate of Tatoi.
Five firefighting helicopters and an airplane flood the fire to bring the situation under control before it escalates. According to the SKY TV channel, the firefighters stated that explosions were heard at the site of the fire, and the re-ignition, most likely, occurred from a small fire, probably arson.
Roads in the surrounding area are closed to facilitate the movement of fire trucks.
A message from the Civil Protection Service on number 112 was recently sent to residents of the area where the fire broke out. In particular, the residents of Ippokratio Politia who were asked to leave their homes and go to the Athens-Lamia National Road area, while the residents of Drosopigi were asked to go to the Afidnes area.
Firefighters remain on full alert after a catastrophic fire that struck the area in the previous 24 hours. In this context, with the first rays of the sun, helicopters continue to flood small pockets of fire, which continue to smolder without actively spreading fire.
