Demonstration against compulsory vaccination on Syntagma

The anti-vaccine rally took place on 21/07 at 18:30 in the center of Athens, in front of the parliament building. About 1,500 protesters occupied the square in front of the Unknown Soldier on Syntagma.

Some were holding Greek flags and a banner with the slogan: “No vaccination is compulsory.” Among the demonstrators one could see priests in robes, many anti-Vaktseurs carried crosses and icons with the faces of saints in front of them.

First, the protesters gathered in the square, and then moved upward, blocking traffic on Amalias Avenue.

A similar demonstration took place in Thessaloniki, Rhodes and other cities in Greece.

It is noted that 2 similar anti-virus events took place last week.

Epidemiological situation
It is worth noting that at the time of the protest rally, EODY announced that 2,972 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours.

During the same period, 3 deaths were registered. At the same time, 125 intubated patients are in intensive care units. Of the above cases, 1266 were identified in Attica (1607 yesterday) and 236 in Thessaloniki (254 yesterday).

75,578 tests were carried out, the positivity index (η θετικότητα) was 3.93%.
