Mitsotakis: Vaccination of children will never be mandatory

Vaccination children will never become mandatory, the Prime Minister said during a working trip to Messinia.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced the opening of a platform to vaccinate children aged 12 and over, without going into details as the matter is currently being discussed by a panel of experts.

Mr. Mitsotakis stressed that the government will heed the relevant proposals of experts, while stressing that parents will have the opportunity to make any decision, and that vaccination of children will never be compulsory. Recall that last Thursday, the site was open for registration for vaccination of adolescents from 15 to 17 years old.

Once the National Vaccine Committee has approved vaccinations for children born before 12/31/2005, parents can make an appointment starting July 19 for the Pfizer drug.

Child vaccination appointments can be made from the emvolio.gov.gr platform with Taxisnet codes and can be assigned by any parent or guardian of the child.

Also, the child’s admission can be concluded at KEP or in pharmacies, while the parent will provide the identification data of himself and the child. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to vaccination centers.
