A police officer ran over a goat

A car accident has occurred on the national highway Larisa-Trikala. A law enforcement officer in an accident hit a goat and suffered himself.

According to the newspaper “Eleftheria”, the police of the Trikala department were called to the scene to settle the situation with a herd of domestic animals that had come from nowhere on the road. The authorities began to remove goats and sheep from the road, when one goat strayed from the herd and wandered in the opposite direction, along the opposite lane of the road (at the height of the Mandra village).

At that moment, a 58-year-old policeman was passing along the road, whose car was hit by an animal. The injured man was taken to Trikala General Hospital (Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Τρικάλων). Due to the severity of the collision, the unfortunate animal was mortally wounded and, at the same time, was thrown into another lane (opposite stream), crushing a police officer who, together with his colleague, were trying to disperse the herd from the roadway.

According to the information, the policeman was taken to Trikala General Hospital for first aid. The owner of the goat has not yet been identified.
