Russia: there are no survivors of the An-26 plane crash

The plane, flying from the Russian Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the village of Palana, crashed in a rocky area, and the debris scattered across the Sea of ​​Okhotsk. All 22 passengers and 6 crew members are dead.

The Investigative Committee is considering three main versions of the disaster – weather conditions, technical damage, crew error. Specialists who arrived at the crash site seized documents and a flight plan, took fuel samples, and interviewed witnesses.

The Athens news agency, referring to TASS and emergency services, reports on the main version for this hour – a crew error in poor visibility. The aircraft was inspected prior to departure and the crew did not report any technical problems. To the destination, the city of Palana, the plane did not fly only 4 kilometers.

An-26 aircraft with 28 passengers on board, including two children, disappeared from the radar screens this morning. The aircraft was heading from the Russian Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the village of Palana. According to RBC, referring to the Ministry of Emergencies, the plane did not get in touch at the agreed time. The rescuers of the regional search and rescue base and the Kamchatka branch of the search and rescue unit of the Russian Emergencies Ministry were involved in the search for the aircraft. The plane and two helicopters are directed along the An-26 route. The Pacific Fleet has joined the search, the military said.
