WHO recommends: Moderna is approved for emergency use

Experts from the World Health Organization recommend using the Moderna coronavirus vaccine for patients aged 18+, the organization said on April 30.

The posted post says:

“WHO has included the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (mRNA 1273) in its emergency drug list, making it the fifth vaccine to be approved by WHO.”

The organization estimates that the Moderna m-RNA vaccine is 94.1% effective. The drug for coronavirus should be stored at minus temperatures of 15-25 ° C. Up to 30 days, that is, immediately before the forthcoming use, the vaccine is stored at a temperature of + 2 ° C to + 8 ° C.

Previously, the World Health Organization approved 4 vaccines: two from AstraZeneca, as well as from Pfizer and Janssen. At the same time, in the United States, the use of Moderna was allowed on December 16, a few days later in the European Union. Japan, Great Britain, South Korea, Canada, Israel, Switzerland and other countries have entered into contracts with the manufacturing company for the supply of vaccines. However, it was previously reported that pharmaceutical company Moderna (USA) will ship fewer doses than planned in the second quarter to the UK and Canada.
