Meteorologists promise autumn from tomorrow Monday

From Monday, September 9, the weather changes and becomes more like autumn. Rain and a drop in temperature are coming.

Meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafilias warns of this, promising a rainy and cool week. The first wave of bad weather is expected from Monday to Wednesday, and immediately after it comes the second one – from Thursday to Saturday. Temperatures will drop by 4-6 degrees. The meteorologist's report says:

“A cold air flow brings the first rains. Given the autumn conditions, the new week in our country is expected to be rainy, twice. The first rains, according to forecasts, will begin on Monday, September 9, and will last until Wednesday. The next period of rains will last from Thursday to Saturday. Bad weather will affect Italy, neighboring Greece, and central Europe.”

During both periods, western and northern Greece and the eastern Aegean Sea will be subject to heavy rainfall (weather type P, καιρός τύπου Π). According to the meteorologist, Temperatures will drop by 4-6 degrees with a tendency to drop further by the end of the weekIn addition, strong southwest and northwest winds are expected.

For today, Sunday, August 8, EMY forecasts unstable weather conditions in Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades and Evia, with rain and sporadic storms until midday. Improvement is expected in the evening hours.

In other regions it will be clear, with some cloudiness in continental areas (except Thrace) at midday and during the day, local rains and thunderstorms will occur in the mountains. In the morning hours, visibility in the west will be limited in places.

The wind in the east is north, from 3 to 5 points, in the Aegean Sea in places up to 6 points on the Beaufort scale. In the west the wind is variable, from 3 to 4 points on the Beaufort scale. The temperature will drop slightly: 28-31°C in the north, 31-33°C in the west and on Crete, 30-32°C in the rest of the country.

Weather in Attica. At midday and during the daytime, a temporary increase in cloudiness, local rains and showers are possible, mainly in the mountains. North/northeast wind from 3 to 4 points, in the east in places up to 5 points on the Beaufort scale. Temperature from 20°C to 32°C.

Weather in Thessaloniki. Unstable – with clouds, local rain and sporadic gales, mainly early morning and afternoon. Gradually improving in the afternoon. Wind variable, force 2 to 3 on the Beaufort scale. Temperature 21°C to 29°C.
