Today, August 24, on Ukraine's Independence Day, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law banning the activities of religious organizations associated with the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
This law may make the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP) impossible. It was published in the official parliamentary publication “Voice of Ukraine”.
The purpose of the law is to prohibit the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church and religious organizations affiliated with it in Ukraine, prohibits the propaganda of the ideology of the “Russian world”, in particular, the use of religious organizations to promote this ideology is prohibited.
The law comes into force on the day following the day of its publication.
