Teens on flights to the islands with Self-Test only, CAA reports

The Greek Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced that adolescents aged 12 to 17 who travel to the Greek islands from mainland airports on domestic flights can only board with a negative self-test within 24 hours of travel.

The age group from 12 to 17 years old is determined for those born before July 1, 2009. Children under 12 do not need to be tested to fly from mainland Greece to the islands.

The CAA has added self-testing to the current directive for all passengers, minors or adults, which requires: a negative PCR diagnostic test performed 72 hours before departure, or a negative rapid test performed within the last 48 hours, or a certificate of vaccination, or a certificate of recovery from coronavirus infection.

This entire directive is valid until Monday 2 August 2021.
