Boris Mouzenidis was escorted on his last journey

The funeral of Boris Mouzenidis, one of the leading tourism businessmen, took place in Thessaloniki. Relatives and friends gathered to see him off on his last journey.

Boris Mouzenidis died at the age of 60 from complications of the coronavirus within 24 hours in Moscow.

The founder of the Mouzenidis group, the great visionary of Greek tourism, came to Moscow two weeks ago for the international tourism exhibition MITT. Immediately after arrival, he felt the first symptoms of coronavirus, but mild, and for this reason he refused hospitalization. However, the symptoms worsened, and in the evening he was taken to a Moscow hospital. Early in the morning, death from a heart attack was pronounced as a complication from the coronavirus.

The coffin with the body of Boris Mouzenidis, wrapped in a Greek flag, was taken to the church of Agios Georgios in Efkarpia, where dozens of people gathered in farewell early in the morning with tears in their eyes, holding flowers in their hands.

The funeral took place at the Nea Efkarpia cemetery, where more than a hundred people were waiting for their turn to say goodbye. Only close relatives were allowed to enter the church, where the funeral service was held. The police strictly monitored the observance of measures of protection against coronavirus, preventing mass gatherings of people.

Boris Mouzenidis’s body was transported to Thessaloniki on Tuesday afternoon (03/30/2021) from Moscow on a flight of the Ellinair airline, which he founded in 2013. The flight code was ELB1961, the date of birth of Boris Mouzenidis.
