About 2.3 million tourists have visited Greece this year, Deputy Tourism Minister Sofia Zakharaki said on Monday.
Germany is again the main source of inbound tourism, accounting for 412,000 arrivals, or 17% of the total.
The Polish market came as a big surprise this season, as 202,000 Poles have already arrived. Last year, 295,000 Poles vacationed in Greece.
About 100,000 tourists came from the United States. How many tourists arrived from Russia is still unknown, but according to preliminary data, we are talking about several tens of thousands. We hope to find out more accurate data tomorrow.
Zakharaki said inbound tourism fell 78.2% in 2020, to 7.4 million, up from 34 million in 2019, the state news agency Amna reported.
