In France, as a result of a study, scientists linked the death of 17 thousand coronavirus patients with one medicine.
It’s about how writes BB.LV, about the drug for malaria hydroxychloroquine, after taking which thousands of patients died in six countries – Turkey, USA, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain. Research results published in the journal Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy.
This medicine was prescribed to patients with COVID-19 when there was no evidence of benefit. The material emphasizes that in 2021, the journal Nature published calculations according to which the use of hydroxychloroquine increased mortality by 11% as a result of heart rhythm disturbances and other side effects.
At the same time, the number of victims from treatment with this drug may be much greater, experts emphasize, since scientists analyzed only data for the period from March to July 2020 in the study.
