The Israeli government has approved the immediate entry of five thousand foreign citizens to work in agriculture.
The initiative to make such a decision belongs to the Minister of Labor Yoav Ben-Tzur and the Minister of Internal Affairs Moshe Arbel, writes BB.LV. The workers will be recruited and brought into the country by a private agency that is authorized to mediate foreign workers in the agricultural sector.
Before the outbreak of hostilities, it employed more than 30,000 foreign workers, but seven thousand of them left the country. Traditionally, the Israeli national economy employs many residents of Palestine and the Gaza Strip.
