A work accident occurred in the southern Athens suburb of Vari on Monday morning in which a 54-year-old man was fatally injured by a construction machine.
During work on laying optical fiber, a construction vehicle drove over the well, where a worker with foreign citizenship was at that time, and crushed him.

The worker was extricated from the well in an operation carried out by the fire service involving 10 firefighters in 3 engines. He was then taken unconscious to the General Hospital of Asklipio Voula, where he was pronounced dead.
