Pensioners with “personal differences” are expected to receive emergency financial assistance of 100-200 euros in December this year.
Emergency assistance to pensioners with personal distinction (προσωπική διαφορά) is among the measures to financially support citizens, Deputy Finance Minister Thanos Petralias announced at a press conference.
As announced, about 750,000 pensioners with pensions up to 1,600 euros, who have a personal difference (more than 10 euros), will receive extraordinary financial assistance at the end of December 2023 (before Christmas). Financial costs are estimated at approximately 107 million euros:
- those who have a basic pension amount of up to 700 euros will receive 200 euros,
- from 700.1 to 1100 – 150 euros,
- from 1100.1 to 1600 – 100 euros.
At the same time, from December 2023, the minimum guaranteed income will increase by 8%. We are talking about about 225,000 recipients. The annual costs are approximately 43 million euros (about 3.5 million euros as of December 2023).
