Former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis said he would not run for New Democracy in the national elections and stressed that it was time to end his long parliamentary journey.
“I decided it was time to complete my parliamentary journey. Therefore, I will not run in the upcoming elections. Obviously, I always support the New Democracy government, a faction founded by Konstantinos Karamanlis that has been running non-stop for nearly half a century. True to its history, ideology, principles and values. With respect and love for her world and all Greek citizens.”
It is worth noting that many New Democracy supporters hoped to the last that Kostas Karamanlis would return to the political scene. But, apparently, this politician broke down. He broke like a man and decided to leave politics.
Apparently the story of 2008, with assassination attempt on him from the CIA, left too deep a mark on his life.
