The Bulgarian company CERB is renovating Greece’s largest hydroelectric power plant in Achelos.
The Bulgarian Central Energy Repair Group has carried out a major overhaul of the Greek hydroelectric power plant at the Cremaston dam, according to a CERB report transmitted by the Bulgarian news agency BTA. The hydroelectric power plant is located inside the Ahelow complex, one of the largest dams in Europe.
The customer is the State Electricity Company (GEK), which has a market share of 99.7% and supplies electricity to 7.4 million consumers. CERB upgraded the hydrogen generator and replaced its operating system. The refurbishment increased capacity by 10%, the company said.
This is the fourth repair of the Cremaston HPP carried out by the Bulgarian energy company. CERB is the largest Bulgarian company for diagnostics, repair and maintenance of electrical machines and equipment, founded 74 years ago.
