A resident of Rhodes almost got into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest fine ever made by traffic police.
According to rodiaki.gr, the driver received a notification of an outstanding fine that the local traffic authority had confirmed against her in the past.
Opening the envelope, instead of seeing the normal amount, the woman could not believe her eyes, as the indicated number was 6,648,444 euros.
The woman contacted the relevant authority and humorously stated: “Since I don’t have a card, I will pay in cash”, after the first shock, the employee assured that this was a clear mistake and it would be corrected immediately.
The news went around the world, with several websites reporting that the heat had affected the brains of… civil servants.
