An hour ago today, on April 18, a message from the press service appeared on the official website of the Mariupol City Council: super-heavy air bombs were dropped on Azovstal.
At the same time, at least a thousand civilians, mostly old people and mothers with children, are in the fortified shelters of the enterprise – they are fleeing shelling there. The City Hall said in a statement:
“There are at least 1,000 civilians in the underground shelters of the metallurgical plant. Mostly they are women with children and the elderly.”
On the website a video of a fire raging at the plant has been published, according to a Ukrainian edition “Correspondent”.
