The RIA Novosti agency hastened today to report the death of LDPR party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, based on information from Senator Alexander Pronyushkin. However, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation denied this information. The department noted:
“Zhirinovsky’s condition is assessed as stable, doctors continue to provide all possible medical care in this situation.”
The death of a colleague was denied by his associates. Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel:
“I want to reassure everyone who is worried about the health of Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky. He is alive. His condition is really serious. Today he had a CT scan. We are worried about him, the doctors are fighting for him. He is a great fellow. Let’s wish him a speedy recovery.”
Volodin advised “the senator who participated in the dissemination of false information <...> resign”, writes RIA News.
Previous Edition “News” reported, citing a source familiar with the situation, that on March 20, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky was again put into a medically induced coma due to a sharp deterioration in health.
On February 9, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation reported that Zhirinovsky had been in the hospital since February 2 with a confirmed Omicron-strain of coronavirus. The politician was taken out and put back into a state of drug-induced sleep several times in order to give rest to the body fighting the disease. During these periods he was conscious.
