Scientists are scrupulously studying the effectiveness of the booster dose of coronavirus vaccination, gaining more and more data.

Booster doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are not as effective against the Omicron strain as they were for the Delta variant, according to the UK Health Protection Agency. Scientists studied 147,597 cases of Delta disease and 68,489 cases of Omicron variant in the UK.
Data analysis showed that Pfizer and Moderna boosters are 90% effective against Delta strain for a minimum of 9 weeks. However, in the case of Omicron, this figure is 30% less and continues to decrease over time.
Jaya Dantas, a professor at Australia’s Curtin University, believes that regular booster vaccinations may be required to protect against coronavirus: “You may need boosters, say two or three per year, and older adults are more likely to receive triple the yearly dose.”
Michael Lideamorao, a researcher at Monash University, Australia, finds the UK study’s findings very encouraging. After all, no matter what the first 2 doses of the vaccine were (AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna), a person receives almost the same protection from boosters Moderna and Pfizer.
