This code, in fact, is the signal that the Russian Navy transmits to bring its strategic submarines into immediate readiness so that they can begin launching nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles.
In the same time The United States responded to Moscow's order on nuclear readiness MONOLITHloading B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers with nuclear weapons. The weapon was stationed at Minot Air Force Base, and the procedure itself was made public.
In particular, the bombers are loaded with 8 AGM-129 ACM cruise missiles with nuclear warheads, which are the main nuclear weapons of the air branch of the US nuclear “triad”. You need to understand that, probably, a similar loading of nuclear weapons was carried out at other deployment points.
All this sudden escalation makes us think about global nuclear power and its destructive potential, both in relation to the arsenals of the US, Russia and China, as well as regional powers.
Of the approximately 12,100 nuclear warheads in the world, about 9,583 are in military stockpiles, intended for use on missiles, aircraft, ships and submarines. The remaining warheads have been removed from service but remain relatively intact and await dismantlement. Of the 9,583 warheads in military stockpiles, about 3,880 are operational (at missile or bomber bases).
Of these, about 2,000 American, Russian, British and French warheads are on alert. A typical example is the entry into service of Avangard supersonic missiles in Russia and the modernization of the LGM-118 Minuteman III in the US Air Force.
Newsweek writes that Ukraine may have just crossed Putin's nuclear red line. According to the publication, Ukraine used a UAV to attack the 29B6 “Container” over-the-horizon radar in the city of Kovilkino in the Republic of Mordovia. This strike is a possible violation of one of the red lines for the use of nuclear weapons – “disruption of nuclear forces' response”according to the wording of the Kremlin decree signed by Putin in 2020, writes Newsweek.
Ukraine has not officially confirmed the information about the radar strike. However, it is clear that such actions cannot be taken without approval from Washington or at least London. The security of the Russian nuclear system is too serious an issue.
