The Financial Police Directorate has identified a store in Athens that was operating an illegal gambling and “casino” operation. 57 computers with games, roulette and 2,445 euros were seized.
The Financial Police Department discovered on the afternoon of yesterday, Thursday 11 April, a medical facility in one of the districts of Athens where illegal gambling was taking place. A total of 11 people were arrested in the case, including a temporary manager, 2 employees and 8 patrons who participated as players in illegal gambling, accused, in some cases, of violating gambling, personal data and foreigners laws.
After using the information, an organized police operation was carried out, within the framework of which illegal gambling was established in the store, and during the investigation the following were discovered and seized:
- roulettes,
- 57 computers and games,
- slot machine,
- 2445- euro,
- 3 computer servers,
- 13 surveillance cameras,
- 2 recording devices.
The seized digital evidence will be sent to the Department of Forensic Investigations for laboratory examination, the remaining evidence will be transferred for storage to the State Property Management, and the money will be deposited into the Deposit and Loan Fund. The arrested persons with the case materials formed against them were delivered to the competent prosecutor's office.
