"Replacement of equipment for business": what beneficiaries need to know


The Ministry of Environment and Energy has announced the extension of the Business Equipment Replacement Program until May 15. At the same time, the Ministry of the Environment is further simplifying the procedure for participating in the program.

In particular, beneficiaries will now be able to join the program by submitting a declaration of responsibility for achieving a CO2 reduction target of at least 30% if they do not already have the required Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)/energy audit report. In any case, of course, energy performance certificates must be submitted before and after the company's activities within the time limits specified in the Program Implementation Guide.

What's included in the program

The Business Equipment Replacement Program offers significant financial support for a wide range of upgrades aimed at reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions by at least 30%. In particular it covers:

  • Heat pumps: Replacing inefficient heating systems with modern, environmentally friendly heat pumps or a new installation.
  • Use of solar energy: investing in solar heating systems, taking advantage of the country's year-round sunshine.
  • Smart meters: obtaining information about the energy consumption of an enterprise and optimizing its efficiency.
  • Other energy saving measures: support for any energy saving measures that will help the enterprise achieve its emissions reduction goal.

In addition, the program covers equipment transfer, installation and configuration of new equipment, energy audit, application support consultant costs for registration and final application submission, etc.

Help for businesses of all sizes

Program budget “Replacement of business equipment” amounts to 105.5 million eurosand businesses of any size can take advantage of it by receiving assistance of up to 25,000 euros:

  • Small businesses: the maximum expenditure budget is 20,000 euros and the corresponding aid rate is 50%.
  • Medium and large enterprises: The maximum expenditure budget is 25,000 euros, the corresponding aid rate is 40%.
