“Map” of Greek real estate: what this year’s data shows

A new increase in the value of real estate owned by individuals and businesses has been recorded in Greece, based on data published by the tax office AADE.

In particular, the total objective value of real estate owned by 7,159,164 natural legal entities is 771.9 billion euros, an increase of 2.5 billion euros compared to 2023. In fact, the largest percentage of this property, almost 53%, is located in Attica. The 2,549,919 taxpayers living in this region own real estate with a total value of more than 409 billion euros.

As for the general tax, data processing shows: out of 7,159,164 individuals and legal entities who received the calculation ENFIA991,860 property owners are exempt from paying ENFIA. Tax to be paid by the remaining 6,167,304 individuals and legal entities, amounted to a total of 2.286 billion euros. ENFIA discount of up to 10% was received by 215,171 taxpayers who insured their home against earthquake, fire and flood. Data by region after processing ENFIA permits shows the following picture:

1. 2,226,723 property owners (individuals and legal entities) living in Attica will pay 1.2 billion euros for their properties, the value of which will exceed 409 billion euros.

2. In the region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 337,700 property owners have properties worth 23.7 billion euros. They will have to pay a tax of 74.77 million euros.

3. In the Northern Aegean region, 127,424 property owners own properties worth €11.34 billion. And accordingly they will pay a tax of 33.3 million euros.

4. In the Western Greece region, 354,111 taxpayers own property worth €28.5 billion. The tax amount is 83.89 million euros.

5. In the region of Western Macedonia, 160,858 taxpayers own real estate worth 10.16 billion euros. The tax amount is 34.23 million euros.

6. In the Epirus region, 184,026 taxpayers own real estate worth 17.5 billion euros. The tax amounts to 43.7 million euros.

7. In the region of Thessaly, 400,846 taxpayers own property worth 33 billion euros, and the tax they have to pay is 96.33 million euros.

8. In the Ionian Islands region, 139,556 taxpayers own property worth €16.36 billion. The tax amount is 48.63 million euros.

9. In the Central Macedonia region, 1,061,286 taxpayers own real estate worth €100.1 billion and pay €292.99 million in tax.

9. In Crete, 364 thousand taxpayers with real estate worth 41.46 billion euros are subject to a tax of 122 million euros.

10. In the South Aegean, 176,999 property owners worth €25.62 billion pay a tax of €78.84 million.

11. In the Peloponnese, 346,765 property owners worth 31.55 billion euros will pay a tax of 93.9 million euros.

12. In the Central Greece region, 287,010 property owners worth 22.99 billion euros pay a tax of 70 million euros.
