Kalamata, Arachova and Paros are among the most economical places for Easter excursions by car or sea transport, ferry. In contrast, Corfu and Chios become the most expensive destinations, especially if you travel by plane. Prices are based on 1 person (information taken on 2/04 from the platforms vriskoapostasi.gr, booking.com, airtickets.gr).

Easter destinations from Athens by car

• The most economical choice among destinations accessible by car from Athens is Kalamata. The cost, including transport and accommodation, is 171 euros.
• The picturesque Monemvasia is a little more expensive. The cost of transport is 61 euros, and with available accommodation the total cost of the trip is estimated at 202 euros.
• Arakhova. The total cost is 211 euros, with transport calculated at 32 euros and accommodation at 179 euros.
• Leonidio becomes the most expensive Easter destination (if traveling from Athens by car). A person will pay 38 euros for transport, and 202 euros for five nights. Total 240 euros.
• Nafpaktos is only 5 euros cheaper than Leonidio, and the total cost of an Easter holiday reaches 235 euros. The price includes transport 58 euros and accommodation 176 euros.

Easter destinations from Athens by ferry

• The islands of both the Cyclades and the Dodecanese are especially popular during Easter.
• The most economical option for a boat trip over the Easter holidays is Paros, with a total cost of 224 euros. In them, the ferry costs 120 euros with return and accommodation for 104 euros.
• Next comes Santorini, where the total cost of the ferry and five nights is estimated at 258 euros.
• Among the most sought after and expensive destinations are Syros with its impressive Ermoupoli and majestic Vaporia. Prices with return ferry tickets start from €92 and accommodation costs start from €204 for 5 nights, which works out to €296.
• Almost 10 euros more economical than Syros, distant Patmos comes out with a total cost of 287 euros. In them, return ferry tickets cost 110 and 177 euros for five nights.

Easter destinations from Athens by plane

The most expensive Easter destinations also happen to be the most popular. The reason is Corfu and Chios, which are easier to reach from Athens by plane:

• Corfu is the “queen” of Easter, as the cost of a six-day excursion by plane to the island of Faiaki is 522 euros. The price, which includes plane tickets, is 286 euros, and a six-day stay plus a further 286 euros.
• Chios is more than 100 euros cheaper, and the total cost is estimated at 395 euros. In particular, air tickets to the island cost 278 euros, and accommodation – 117 euros.
