Migrants in Chios: three girls aged 5, 7 and 10 died


Three girls aged 5, 7 and 10 years died – this is the outcome of the maritime tragedy, the arrival of a boat with migrants on the island of Chios on the morning of April 10.

An inflatable boat carrying illegal immigrants ran aground on an impassable rocky shore northeast of Kardamyla in Ampelakia. After the coast guard forces received the relevant information, rescuers immediately arrived in the area of ​​the incident.

A sea search was carried out using three boats and a helicopter, and 14 people were rescued and taken to Kardamyla. The bodies of three little girls were found in the area where the inflatable boat ran aground.

So far, 16 people have been rescued, and the search for others continues. There were 22 people on board the boat, and according to rescuers, no one was missing.
