The international Taste Atlas food list ranked Greek ribs as the top 100 best lamb dishes in the world.
This list includes four more recipes for traditional dishes from the Mediterranean country. In the corresponding list, 8th place is occupied by kleftiko, 11th by tsigaristo, 21st by lamb with potatoes in the oven and 22nd by anticristo. Antikristo is a dish that is prepared especially carefully in Greece, resulting in a real dish.
The other dishes listed above – kleftiko and lamb with potatoes – can easily be prepared at home.
Ribs are the edible part of a ram (sheep) carcass. It is characterized by the presence of films and a high content of fatty tissue. It is eaten stewed, boiled, and less often fried. 100 grams of lamb ribs contain about 372 kcal. The chemical composition of lamb ribs is characterized by a high content of proteins, fats, vitamins (B3, B4, B5, B9, B12, K), macroelements (potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus) and microelements (iron, manganese, copper, zinc, selenium ).
