In the capital suburb of Kapandriti, there was an attempt to break into a jewelry store using a bulldozer, which ended in an epic embarrassment.
The criminals took a bulldozer standing in front of the jewelry store at 23 Kalamos Street and used it to ram the store’s security shutters and glass window. They succeeded. However, from that moment on, everything did not go as the criminals had planned.
As it turned out, in addition to passive protection in the form of metal blinds, the store was equipped with a smoke generator. After the alarm went off, which called security, the smoke generator also went off, filling the room with smoke (apparently, it smelled bad and was obviously tear-producing).
The police were unable to detain the criminals at the crime scene and are now studying data from surveillance cameras. A group of three people, previously involved in similar crimes, is suspected. The unsuccessful burglars were unable to obtain the jewelry, as well as the safe, but caused significant damage to both the building and the premises. This means that to the article “theft,” those wanted added “damage to property” for a substantial amount and “theft of equipment.”
