"Frank and friendly" negotiations between the PRC representative in Kyiv


The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on friendly negotiations between Chinese Special Representative Li Hui that took place on March 7 in Ukraine.

On website The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China published the following message:

“Special Representative Li Hui held frank and friendly talks on Chinese-Ukrainian relations and the Ukrainian crisis with the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Fan Xianrong was present , Ambassador of Ukraine to China Pavel Ryabikin, Deputy Minister of Energy Svetlana Grinchuk and other officials.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China reports that in the evening of the same day, Li Hui completed his visit to Ukraine and left Kyiv by train.

On March 7, the Office of the President of Ukraine reported that a briefing was held under the chairmanship of Andriy Ermak on the security situation in Ukraine and other pressing issues for the PRC delegation led by Special Representative Li Hui.

The Chinese delegation was informed about the situation on the battlefield, the functioning of the “grain corridor”, the return of prisoners of war, the protection of the rights of civilian hostages and the return of Ukrainian children deported by Russia. The Chinese delegation was shown samples of debris from a downed North Korean missile.

Discussed also the question of the possibility of assistance from the Chinese side in stopping the forced deportation of Ukrainian children, the exchange of prisoners, demilitarization and de-occupation of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, ensuring nuclear safety and other international initiatives of Ukraine.
