D. Medvedev: "We didn’t want to destroy Mitsotakis now – if that was our goal, we would have achieved it"

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council and former Russian President N. Medvedev made a statement regarding the missile attack on Odessa during K. Mitsotakis’s visit to Ukraine.

As a result, for the first time in history, the Greek Prime Minister is being attacked by a foreign power for his decisions, which, of course, are a de facto declaration of war on that power, since his statement “We are at war with Russia” well known. Moreover, the Russians, through the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, stated that the Greek Prime Minister “will answer” for the weapons and ammunition that he sent to Ukraine.

And today, a close ally of the Russian President D. Medvedev said that Russia did not target the delegation President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky during a rocket attack on Odessa, noting that if Russia had chosen Zelensky’s motorcade, it would have been included in it, and the statement was addressed to all parties involved.

“This is obvious to everyone: both the fact that there was no attack on the motorcade in Odessa, and the fact that if it had been struck, we would have shot it down,” – Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel.

However, earlier the adviser to the President of Ukraine did not rule out that the target could be Mitsotakis, saying that it cannot be ruled out that the target of the Russian missile attack on the port of Odessa yesterday were the missions of Vladimir Zelensky or the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis. “In fact, it was less than 500 meters from us. What it was… It cannot be ruled out that it was aimed at the mission of my president or the mission of a foreign guest.”Igor Zhovkva, a senior Ukrainian diplomatic adviser, said in an interview with CNN Live.

According to him, the missile was fired from Crimea, and the distance was so short that it would be difficult to miss it if the Russian side wanted it. “The missile reached its target in the Odessa port in less than three minutes,” – said Zovkva. “If we had enough air defenses, this ballistic missile could be intercepted.”he added.

In fact, both the first statement about 80 meters and the subsequent increases in the distance from the explosion to 150 and then 500 meters are untrue.

A video circulated in Greek media shows an explosion that occurred at least 1.5 kilometers away.
