Three Roma, aged 17 and 16, were walking on Sunday afternoon near the office of a certain organization in Patras, which aroused suspicion among police officers who were already investigating the theft of 40 car batteries that occurred on March 2 at the same enterprise.
During the check carried out on three minors, seven stolen batteries were discovered. As a result of the subsequent preliminary investigation, the youngsters admitted that they had entered the yard of the enterprise by cutting the wire fence and stole a total of 40 batteries.
The perpetrators were brought to the prosecutor of first instance of the city of Patras, along with the mother of one of the detainees. The woman is accused of “neglecting the supervision of a minor child.” The parents of two other guys, accomplices in the crime, also appear in the criminal case.
