The Meat Eater (Tsiknopemti), a traditional Greek holiday, is approaching, which this year will take place on Thursday, March 7th. According to experts,

In particular, pork from 5 euros last year now costs 7 euros, and beef from 11 euros last year will now cost about 14 euros. Over 3 years, the rise in meat prices has reached 25%, which forces consumers to “put their hand deeper into their pockets.” At the same time, an increase in meat consumption is observed even from month to month.
At the same time, there has been a huge increase in the price of lamb: its price today ranges from 12 to 15 euros, while last year it cost from 9 to 11 euros. According to Mega, even chicken, the most economical poultry meat, today costs between 3.5 and 5.5 euros, while last year it cost between 2 and 3.5 euros.
According to market participants, meat prices will continue to rise as long as livestock numbers remain low.
