Extended school in primary school: changing the class schedule

According to the decision of Deputy Minister of Education Zeta Macri, the time spent by primary school students in schools with an extended day function is changing.

The measure will be introduced in the next academic year (2024-2025). The decree was published in the Government Gazette.

The relevant document notes: “For the 2024-25 academic year, the time until which students can stay in a general education institution with a modernized curriculum has been established:

• 15:50,
• 17:30 (if with an extension).

In addition, classes may end at 14:55. The measure was introduced with the aim of “freeing parents” and allowing them to work full time.
