Thriller in Corinth: the family lived in a “hole” with a 30-meter underground tunnel

In Corinth, four people face charges of arson, violence against peace officers, threats, causing dangerous bodily harm and violating weapons laws.

Four people, one of them a minor, were arrested in the Kato Sinokia area. The house in which the family lived was essentially a cave, from which a 30-meter underground tunnel led, ending in a nearby ravine. The secret hole was used by members of the household during a police operation to avoid arrest.

During a search carried out in their “house”, a nearby makeshift shelter-room they used, and an entire arsenal of weapons was discovered in their car:

  • one rifle,
  • one air pistol,
  • one hundred and two hunting cartridges,
  • eighty-one combat rifle cartridges of various calibers (7.62 and 5.56),
  • seven improvised bows and twenty arrows attached to them,
  • four knives,
  • one ax.

It is noted that during the pursuit and detention of the attackers, the woman had with her a child aged about a year, as well as minor children.

During the investigation, it was discovered that on the difficult path along which the above-mentioned detainees tried to escape in the early hours of today, two sawn-off shotguns were carefully hidden under a large stone, as well as an M-4 type combat rifle of 5.56 mm caliber.

The identities of the citizens are revealed, what they did in the cave, who they were hiding from and who they were going to defend themselves by “increasing their arsenal” of weapons.
