Greece in Riyadh signed an agreement with Ukraine within the framework of the defense industry

Hellenic Aerospace, Defense and Security Association (Ε.ΕΛ.Ε.Α.Α.) signed an agreement in Riyadh with the National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industry (NAUDI).

In order to promote the international presence of the Greek defense industry, the association has taken over the organization of the Greek National Pavilion at the World Defense Show (WDS, 4-8 February 2024), which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Greek representation, which presented its first national pavilion at the World Armaments Exhibition, is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defense and the Directorate General of Defense Equipment and Investment (ΓΔΑΕΕ). The WDS International Exhibition is being organized for the second time and has already attracted significant interest from the defense industry and government organizations in the field of defense and security.

WDS was attended by 773 exhibitors from 75 countries, which is 29% more than at the previous exhibition, and the event was attended by 106,000 people and 441 delegations from 116 countries.

Six Greek companies took part in the national pavilion as exhibitors: HELLENIC AIRCRAFT INDUSTRY (EAB), HYDRUS, NAFS SA (Naval Shipyards of Skaramanga), SCYTALYS, THEON SENSORS. They presented the latest developments in the defense industry, while DEFEA also took part in the exhibition.

It was an excellent opportunity for Greek companies operating in the defense and security sector to present their services, demonstrate their products and capabilities on the international market, and find new partnerships and opportunities to develop their activities. In this spirit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Association of Greek Aerospace, Defense and Security Companies (ELEA) and the National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industry (NAUDI) during the exhibition.
