According to the fire brigade, shortly after 4 am they received a call about a car fire at the intersection of Ymittos and Efroniou streets, and 15 firefighters with 5 vehicles immediately rushed to the scene.
The fire completely burned 2 cars and two commercial vans, and a nearby tourist bus was seriously damaged.

According to ERT, a group of young people who left the university campus set fire to parked carsand then came back.
One can only guess about the reasons for what happened…
The university campus in Zografou has been considered the main base of Athenian anarchists for many years. Numerous attempts by the police to restore order on campus have encountered resistance from both the students themselves and the university management, who are confident that they will solve their problems themselves.
