"Is this really all mine?!". Why men are turned on by big women

Who would have thought that in the 21st century the desire to get a “doll” with long legs and a thin waist would be perceived as an obsession with complexes.

Sexuality has ceased to be associated with model parameters, and this can be considered a unique achievement. Increasingly, representatives of powerful women openly declare, without fear of ridicule, that weight is no longer a determining factor for them when choosing a partner. Some people like it thicker? However, when a man desires exclusively overweight women, we can talk about a fetish*.

What is it, and why are men turned on by big women, I wondered edition BB.LV. By definition, a fetish is just a type of sexual behavior. It turns out that for some men the trigger for arousal is precisely the excess weight of their partner. A similar fetish is formed for various reasons. It is possible that such a man’s first orgasm happened with a classmate or fellow student “in the body.” Or maybe large ladies remind him of the hugs of a teacher, which from kindergarten have been associated with safety and provoke him to seek this feeling by choosing similar women.

The environment can also influence the predilection for fat girls, that is, a man may belong to a certain sociocultural group. The fact is that in some cultures, from time immemorial, fatness has been a symbol of femininity, motherhood and fertility. Sexologist Natalya Romanovskaya explains:

“Men from such an environment subconsciously choose women of similar physique. They simply copy the behavior of their fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who preferred magnificent ladies. They associated them with comfort, endurance and healthy offspring. Sometimes men develop an inferiority complex and a syndrome of anxious anticipation of sexual failure. Some of them subconsciously prefer fat women because, as it seems to them, such women are unpretentious in sex and are grateful for any attention.”

Fat ladies, says the sexologist, instill in them a sense of confidence; next to such a partner they feel like real males. And also… There is a banal love for the exotic. Some men don’t “get hung up” specifically on curvaceous representatives of the fair sex, but simply “fall” for everything non-standard: “Usually such men are in the position of a “child” and perceive a woman as an interesting toy – “Wow, I still have that.” did not have!””.

*According to the Cambridge Dictionary, fetishor fetishism, is sexual interest in an object or part of the body other than the genitals. According to sexologist Jess O’Reilly, fantasies are very diverse and each person has their own. The specialist compares fetishes with food: some people love chicken, while others prefer beef. In 2007 in the International Journal of Research on Sexual Dysfunction it turned out study. Psychologists asked about five thousand people about their fetishes. The most common were body parts (33%) or things associated with the body (30%). In this category, feet and fantasies associated with them are the most common fetishes. These are followed by body fluids, weight and height of the partner. Fetishists are often aroused by shoes and underwear.

In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, published The American Psychiatric Association states that most people with “atypical” sexual interests do not have a mental disorder. That is, being a fetishist is normal. In other words, if women like prominent muscles in men or representatives of strong bodies are aroused exclusively by fat women with snub noses, perhaps this is fetishism.

The world of fetishism is diverse and incomprehensible; in most cases, it is just a harmless quirk. Some elements of fetishism aren’t that bad. It’s great when a man is turned on by your lace underwear or full legs, it’s great when there’s something about your man that makes you tremble with excitement. In this sense, we are all a little fetishists, and as long as it remains within reason, this is perhaps even good.
