The man was arrested in 2019 in a drug case, but at this time evidence does not link him to any other serious case.

On the occasion of the incident, member of the board of directors of the Athens Police Union, Dimitris Mylonas, an employee of the criminal investigation department, stated that “Combat First Aid has been an integral part of CID training for the past two years, and its correct application has saved the lives of several civilians in similar incidents. The Athens Police Union, recognizing the need for medical supplies in time, donated a kit to every CSO team in Attica first aid, containing all the materials that enable police officers to successfully deal with such incidents, costing hundreds of euros, which was used in this case. Finally, I would like to point out that we often organize free public first aid seminars combat support for all our police officers so that as many of our colleagues as possible can deal with similar incidents.”
