On Tuesday morning, unknown persons attacked the car of an employee of the Greek Embassy in Berlin.
A Berlin police spokesman told ERT that passers-by saw the burning car at 02:30 (local time) and immediately alerted authorities.
The political motives of the action remain open
A car with diplomatic license plates was parked near the historic Sion Church in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district. As a result of the attack, the front part of the car was completely burned.
“At present, we cannot exclude the possibility that the action was carried out for political reasons,” – said a police spokeswoman.
The Office of State Police Protection has taken over the investigation into the incident, and the Greek Embassy is in contact with the authorities.
