In the village of Petropavlovka, located in the Ostrogozhsky district of the Voronezh region, a Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft “dropped” ammunition during a massive shelling of Ukraine.
A Russian military plane dropped “aircraft munitions” on the village of Petropavlovka in the Voronezh region, regional governor Alexander Gusev said on Tuesday, January 2:
“As a result of the “emergency descent” of the shell, no one was injured, but at least seven households were damaged. Glazing, roofing, and supporting structures may be damaged. Information is being clarified.”
According to RIA Novosti, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed that at 9 a.m. local time, “an abnormal descent of aircraft ammunition occurred over Petropavlovka. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway. A commission is working on the spot to assess the nature of the damage and provide assistance in restoring houses.”
Videos in Telegram channels demonstrate consequences of a bomb fall: damaged houses, deep crater, broken roofs. Local residents say that “half of the street” was destroyed, and local authorities claim damage to electricity, gas and heat supply systems. Dozens of village residents were evacuated. Alexander Gusev said that residents of several streets of Petropavlovka are being transported to temporary accommodation centers, including to neighboring settlements.
