Eurostat: inflation in Greece in November amounted to 2.9%, food prices rose by 6.9%

Greece’s inflation rate reached 2.9% in November 2023, down slightly from the initial estimate of 3%, according to final data released by Eurostat on Tuesday.

At the same time, the consumer price index amounted to 2.4%. Eurozone’s annual inflation rate was 2.4% last month, down from 2.9% in October 2023, according to Eurostat. Statistical Authority of Greece ELSTAT estimated the annual inflation rate last month at 3%.

On a year-on-year basis, food, alcohol and tobacco showed higher inflation rates in the particular month, reaching 6.9% compared to 7.4% in the previous month.

The lowest inflation rates in Europe were recorded in Belgium (-0.8%), Denmark (0.3%) and Italy (0.6%).
