The primary budget surplus in January-November 2023 amounted to 5.826 billion euros

The primary surplus of the Greek state budget in January-November of this year amounted to 5.826 billion euros, which is higher than the target surplus of 3.771 billion euros and the primary deficit of 1.091 billion euros for the same period in 2022.

Net income for the 11 months amounted to 59.162 billion euros, which is 195 million euros more than the target, and regular budget revenues amounted to 65.430 billion euros, which is 328 million (0.5%) more than the target.

In addition, tax revenues reached 56.040 billion euros, which is 0.8% above the target, mainly due to an increase in VAT transfers by 131 million euros, a decrease in special taxes on consumption by 6 million euros, a decrease in property taxes by 22 million euros and an increase in income tax revenues by 183 million euros.

Revenues from the public investment program amounted to 2.954 billion euros, which is 340 million euros less than the target.

Budget expenditures amounted to 60.194 billion euros, which is 1.774 billion less than the target.

In November, budget revenues were 5.285 billion euros, 193 million above the monthly target, and regular budget revenues were 6.0 billion, 326 million euros above the monthly target.
