On the night of December 24, the popular nightclub Kartel, where rapper Tsunami was giving a concert, sank in Belgrade.
How tells Serbian portal Blic, security began to remove people from a crowded club located on a pontoon, and clashes arose with visitors who did not want to leave the concert. They jostled on the bridge connecting the club to the shore, as a result of which, in the end, the pontoon along with the establishment went under water.
Eyewitnesses say that at least a hundred people ended up in the water. The Belgrade rescue service speaks of thirty visitors who received assistance.
The reasons for the flooding of the Kartel nightclub have not been made public, but presumably it was due to a large crowd of people – the pontoon simply could not stand it.
